Music is the language of feeling. But which music? All music? Do they speak the same language? The same feeling?

We might be on “the inside” of one particular type of music, but surely we are on “the outside” of another. In this case we might just hear “the music” itself.

Is the universe ordered? Does it all add up? What is any of this anyways?

There will be no ‘“unifying theory” but Stuff & Things takes one crack. Seeking to structure a chaotic place… or perhaps it’s the other way around? In a very small way, it’s a personal attempt to try to understand the world. All sound is music anyways.

"Stuff & Things works as a 19-track pastiche of colliding samples. Constantly shifting between clips of television shows, songs, speeches and other media detritus, the collection turns the listener’s memory and nostalgia for the past upside down with the many associations created. Though there aren’t any beats holding down the shifting textures, the pacing of the clips creates its own natural rhythm, making Stuff & Things function similarly to the classic instrumental hip-hop beat tapes of yore. The effect is surprising, and what begins as something harsh and jagged inevitably becomes smooth and relaxing as the brain adapts to the flow. And, maybe, it could be said that the scary ease in which one can handle such an onslaught of information might just be the point." - Eddie Charlton (Rosey Music)
